CSEP offers summer research experiences and scholarship programs for California Community College students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Programs focus on first-hand experience in scientific investigation, broadening academic skills, social networking, and career exploration.
CSEP offers a range of programs from a two-week summer introduction to research for incoming freshmen, to early research exposure for lower and upper division students. CSEP provides opportunities for students to develop research projects under the mentorship of faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate student researchers. Participants actively engage in the scientific community through organized social/networking opportunities and professional development workshops.
Partnering with multiple groups, departments, faculty, and staff at UCSB, CSEP offers a variety of opportunities (from career seminars to teaching fellowships) to develop the knowledge and practical experiences essential for the success of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars pursuing varied careers in science, engineering, and mathematics.
