Chris Axline
Chris Axline participated in the UC LEADS program under the supervision of Jean-Luc Fraikin and Dr. Andrew Cleland. He is a UCSB College of Creative Studies Physics student planning to graduate in 2012. Since February 2009, he has worked on a research project centered around microfluidics -- specifically, creating a biological cell-sorting device based on microfluidic techniques. He has presented his work at the 2009 SACNAS conference in Dallas and will present again at the 2010 APS Frontiers in Optics conference in Rochester. He plans to complete an undergraduate thesis, probably within the same lab group. He's beginning to think about a number of graduate school options, but still has a variety of interests to learn more about before he can narrow his preferences.
