CSEP represents a one-stop resource for many UCSB scientists and engineers for the design, facilitation, and evaluation of education and workforce training components for projects and research proposals to government agencies, such as the Department of Defense, the National Science Foundation, and the National Institutes of Health. CSEP's special focus on evaluation offers campus partners a distinctive mechanism to meet funding agency requirements for data collection and analysis about short and longer-term broader impacts of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) partnerships.
Additionally, CSEP provides guidance, infrastructure, and resources to expand current or develop new STEM initiatives, with an emphasis on integrating programs that aim to increase participation and broaden diversity of students who pursue a STEM career.
CSEP Specialists Are Available To Collaborate On
- Program design and evaluation
- Undergraduate research internships and workforce training initiatives
- Teaching and mentoring in STEM disciplines
- Professional development for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars
- Informal science in the community
Our current collaborations include the National Network for Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI) initiative, NSF Science and Technology Center (STC) awards, NSF CAREER grants, campus assessment grants, among multiple others.
If you would like to collaborate with CSEP on large-scale projects (including engineering or technology centers), please contact M. Ofelia Aguirre 5 months prior to the proposal deadline. Projects will be managed on a case-by-case basis.
