Explore working in both an academic and industry setting through the Biomaterials Research + Industry Internship Program for Undergraduates.

October 28, 2021
The UCSB Santoro Lab, in partnership with Mango Materials and the Center for Science and Engineering Partnerships (CSEP), is recruiting undergraduates with an interest in materials science, marine biology, microbiology or molecular biology to participate in a Biomaterials Research + Industry Internship program. Undergraduates will work for 2 quarters (Winter/Spring 2022) in the Santoro Lab on the development of bioplastic materials that can rapidly degrade in marine environments. The following Summer 2022, they will intern at Mango Materials in the Bay Area to work on the development of biodegradable, deployable, marine instruments. Selected students will earn $500 per quarter in Winter and Spring 2022 for working in the Santoro Lab, followed by a stipend of $9K ($5K stipend +$4K housing) to work at Mango Materials in Summer 2022.
