How to Apply to SST
Admission Requirement and Selection:
- High school students who will be in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade as of Fall 2011 are invited to apply
- High school participants must commit to attending all 5 course sessions per term. If you know that you will miss a session, please discuss this matter with our program staff.
- High school participants must select two course choices on the application. Once accepted into the program there will no option for switching courses during the current term.
- High school participants are selected for the SST based on written, and demonstrated interest in science as well as date application is submitted.
- High school participants from local and regional public and private high schools are welcome. Unfortunately, we can not provide transportation for SST, and therefore, students must find their own way of getting to/from UCSB on Saturday mornings.
- Science teachers are welcome to participate in SST. Please contact us sst@cnsi.ucsb.edu for more information about teacher roles.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Step One - Submit Online Application form with at least two course selections.

Step Two - Print and fill out (with parent/guardian signatures) the following forms:
- Waiver of Liability and List of activites

Emergency Contact Card and Photo Release
The application deadline for the Winter 2012 session of the School for Scientific Thought is: Thursday, January 19, 2012 at NOON.
All Forms must be turned in no later than 9:45 am on Saturday, January 28, 2012.
We will confirm the receipt of your application via email within 5 working days. If you do not get an email confirmation, then please resubmit.
